With every elephant we send, we also send a letter which reads:
"How do you eat an elephant?
No, we don't really want you to eat an elephant,
especially not this cute little guy.
But if you were to eat an elephant, it would be a very big task.
It would be intimidating and seem impossible.
it might even be scary.
And if you were the only one tasked with eating that elephant,
it might even seem lonely.
It might even be as intimidating, scary and lonely
as facing cancer.
So how do you eat an elephant then?
How do you face cancer?
One "bite" at a time.
One day... one minute... one moment... at a time.
And that's why this little guy is here for you.
He wants to remind you that you're not alone.
That people do care about you.
That this task before you is not to be eaten whole.
That someone is always on your side,
cheering you on,
caring about you,
supporting you,
Every day... every minute... every moment... of time."
